Carriere of lights

Carrières de lumières

The huge underground quarries of Les Baux-de-Provence, world-famous as the setting for Jean Cocteau's "Le testament d'Orphée", were converted in 1978 into a sound and light show venue.
Representations of masterpieces are projected onto the huge walls, pillars and floors of the quarry. They transport you to colourful worlds with music. Over a hundred video projectors project images onto more than 7,000 m² of floor space.

Each year, Carrières de Lumières offers you an extraordinary experience by immersing you in the work of great figures in modern and contemporary painting. A unique place, a magical atmosphere and a wealth of masterpieces!
